Hi, this is the novelised version of the original Final Fantasy VII which has been a work-in-progress for a few years now. I first posted it in the Writer's Boulevard section of adventchildren.net in March 2007 and between that time and the site closing down, it recorded more views than any other in the section, clearing 10,000. Now that the site is long gone, I thought it best to start posting again for anyone who enjoyed it previously. Many thanks to all those who have read it and given any form of feedback. I do appreciate it - good or bad - as it gives me the inspiration to continue. For anyone new to it, I hope you enjoy it, and please leave your thoughts on the posts below.
Please be patient as I get everything posted again. It may take a week or two. Thanks, Mo. Prologue: The Flower Girl Chapter One: The Fight for the Planet Chapter Two: Second Strike Chapter Three: Encounters of Fate Chapter Four: Don of the Slums Chapter Five: The Wrath of Shinra Chapter Six: The Ancient Chapter Seven: Castle in the Sky Chapter Eight: A New King Chapter Nine: The Nibelheim Incident Chapter Ten: Farewell to Midgar Chapter Eleven: The Way of the Mountain Chapter Twelve: Crossing the Continent Chapter Thirteen: The Walls of Junon Chapter Fourteen: Ghost Ship Chapter Fifteen: Sun, Sea, and Science Chapter Sixteen: The Mistake Chapter Seventeen: Friendship in the Wilderness Chapter Eighteen: The Swordsmith and the Ninja Chapter Nineteen: Black Suits and Hidden Agendas Chapter Twenty: The Missing SOLDIER Also, for the first time, the chapters can now be viewed by you guys in html form. They can be found at http://ff7n.taggames.net/ Special thanks to Cyntalan for his efforts with this. Last edited by S and G; 1st October 2008 at 13:47. |

PROLOGUE The Flower Girl It was a cloudless night above the city of Midgar, the darkened winter sky dotted with a thousand burning stars, the cold air numbing and penetrative. Gazing up, the young flower girl rose from her crouched position by the leaking Mako generator in the damp alleyway, and began towards the crowded metropolis street. Her long pink dress, moistened by the round cobbles on which she had knelt, had become uncomfortable against her bare ankles. She glanced cautiously about her before raising her pale green eyes once again to the heavens, pulling her red denim jacket tighter around her chest. A nearby group of men whistled at her, waving as they stumbled drunkenly through the haze of people. She swung the basket of white roses she carried back and forth across her body – a nervous habit she had adopted since breaking her last flower cart – and, waiting patiently for the car to pass, she crossed the street. As she stepped onto the low kerb on the opposite path, there came a terrible sound of thunder. Everything around her shook, throwing her mercilessly to her knees. The windows of the theatre behind her exploded, scattering shards of glass over the pedestrians below. Long, rigid cracks appeared on the thick walls of the surrounding buildings, small chunks of granite plummeting to the pavement. The frightened screams of many women rang out into the night, slicing through the air like wailing sirens. In the distance, above the rooftops, heavy black smoke had begun to soar into the sky, sending its starry face into an eclipse. The flower girl picked herself up. She groaned as she brushed the grime from her hands and dress, looking out over the plaza as she listened to each gasp and startled cry. In a corner of the space, a short way from where she stood, there emerged a party of five from a small lane hidden by the shadows. They were clad in unusual clothing, their voices hushed and secretive. After a few moments, the group dispersed, and all but one sped off across the square. The lone man kept his gaze fixed straight ahead, as if deep in thought, his blonde hair drooping haphazardly over his handsome face. She began towards him, drawn by an uncontrollable urge; the coincidence of his likeness too great. The hair…the outfit…that sword. Taking quick, delicate steps, she pushed through the hoards of panic-stricken civilians to reach the man, her desire to speak with him a necessity in her mind. ‘Excuse me?’ she said softly as she drew near him. The man turned, his sparkling blue eyes passing once over her. ‘What happened?’ |

I figured it might be a good idea to sticky this thread, to increase readership.
![]() Nice writing by the way. I haven't picked up FFVII in years, but this may prompt me to do so again.

With thanks to Cyntalan, the chapters can now be viewed in html form. The link is in the top post. Until they all get posted on here, it will be the best way to view them.

Just thought I'd make a post.
The current URL that S and G posted works correctly as is, but I have cloned it to an easier URL. This one will be the URL that will get updated, so using the URL above will stagnate for a while (until that link above is replaced with the new URL, at which case I'll be removing the URL). The new URL will work as http://ff7n.taggames.net/ |

I actually think just for logic's sake that the story would be best just kept to the format Cyntalan has produced. For that reason, I'm gonna leave the link to the story on the top post and use this thread as an update thread for people to check back on. I'll get round to tidying some of the things up later. Please leave any feedback here as well. Thank you again to everyone involved.

New chapter posted!
In my weekly check of the site, I found that someone had slipped in a bit of yahoo counter code into the html of some of the pages, and anyone using avast at the very least (but I'd assume other av/malware software would catch it as well) was notified of a trojan. While this was a mistaken identity of being a trojan, but rather just some redirector script, the code snippit has been removed and anyone browsing the page that may have seen this should not have this issue any longer.
